Although the three females look about in the same age range, they do represent however a different social psychology. Such as the female running into the beach might be considered more liberal than the female standing on the beach or the female laying on the beach that is relaxing and catching some rays off the sun. The lady standing up that is in middle, seems more conservative because she obviously wears the most clothes, but in reality she is no different. The fully nude women laying on her beach towel in the sand seems the most relaxed and comfortable in the scene. While the female that is running into the beach might represent a more frustrated and freedom seeker powerful female, and the women laying down represents a confident and relaxed individual; the women who stands out the most remains the one with more clothes on her body. It’s interesting that she was the first one I looked at out of the three; it’s interesting to me because I didn’t notice the other women in the photograph were nude until I took a closer and more detailed look at the women. But then such questions arise like is the women that is in the middle like the other women. I think yes.

The Voices of Starbucks

At first I didn’t understand the purpose for a Starbucks blog. All I was thinking was “does Starbucks even need more publicity?” But Starbucks doesn’t invest money in advertisements the quality of the product does the job. Like other coffee shops that have to invest money on advertisements Starbucks doesn’t do that very much, instead the products and pleased customers bring success to the contiguous popular Starbucks.

So then the question to me still remained; what was the purpose of this blog, what makes it one of the best if many are not reading this? The organization of the blog wasn’t after all every eye catching; no bright colors grabbing my attention, simple format, very long and confusing blog. I didn’t even where it began because of its length. But I began to read the blog. I actually liked it. The interesting topics grabbed my attention once I began to read them. I liked it because it gives different bias from other people, so the creator of the blog (which also has other blogs) in a way stays neutral in the situation and gives a voice to insiders as well as outsiders. One particular post that I liked was titled “Starbucks works to become the only brand that comes to mind when you think about coffee”, I liked that the post criticized the actions of SB (Starbucks) because it’s selling the coffee beans to be taken home. Although others would think that this action could hurt SB instead of helping, and the fact that it helps because introducing the product to “new people to the brand” will drive new customers to drinks on the go. I thought that’s genius because it’s a risk that SB is taking but it’s working anyway and it’s more convenient because Americans are always on the go.

An obvious difference between the Starbucks blog and my own is that mine is about different subjects all containing my bias. The Starbucks blog has the bias of many, different concerns but the subject remains the same. I think that’s something I could try, instead of my blog being so centered on my opinions with a purpose, I could present other views that contrast my own so others reading meet relate better and keep on wanting to read my blog instead of other blogs. Something that the SB blog also uses to support the posts is facts from know media centers like MSNBC.com and Times Magazine. These sources of media not only add acts but their opinions as well. That’s something I also plan to do for future posts, using other resources could strengthen my purpose for certain posts that I write. Since the SB blog also show advertisements for products made by SB, maybe I could incorporate some details of my business and pictures of the experience of having my own business to demonstrate the process and hard work and commitment that it takes to one day become successful. The SB blog over all is good, but I still wonder how still those few individuals found this blog and decided to read it and stay interested with all the controversies and problems happening in the world. After all, Starbucks is not such a huge concern in our society but many other things in our own community that can be changed instead of worrying about a continuous growing power house like Starbucks.

Diamonds are Forever, Yeah Right!

This man is working; he is looking for diamonds to be sold all over the world. The demand in diamonds is very important in the diamond trade but the poor life conditions of this man and others like him are not even noticed. The rest of the world is not even aware of death quantities that occur due to people working in poor conditions without eating and drinking water. All the sacrifice made by people in another part of the world so that others more “fortunate” can buy pieces of carbon that really have no value of importance because the price was placed by man not GOD. No one realizes that people die in the process of finding diamonds in Africa just like people died in America during the Gold Rush. Are other people’s lives worth pieces of rocks on an engagement ring, a new necklace or a pair of diamond earrings, just to have a status in society? Men that are forced to find diamonds are not even aware of the value placed on pieces of carbon all over the world, but work anyway in hopes of taking food to their homes; food that maybe won’t be bought with pennies made a day because it’s just not enough for a simple piece of bread. Many beautiful people around the world sacrifice their entire lives live as slaves of labor and don’t know the extremes of their labor are more valuable to the way the world works than the value of a piece of carbon.

Dancing to a New Experience

Going to the club is nothing new to me, but there are different types of clubs. For starters I rather go to a club where Hispanic music is the genre of the club and there are people who speak Spanish. It’s a comfort thing; everyone goes to places where they find something in common with the people around them; it’s normal to be drawn to an environment which exhibits similar qualities to our own.

The night, of which I was going to my first gay club, I felt nervous and didn’t know what to expect. But then again I always feel like its my first time going to any dance club because there’s always new and fresh faces in the same places that I go to. Before entering the club there was a very strong energy in the group of my friends we just couldn’t wait to see the type of fun our other friends were having. The music was loud even though we were standing outside in a line, cold breath leaving our bodies and into the air but with look of excitement on all of faces and edger to get out of the cold and to the dance floor. The club scene was very similar to other clubs, dark room, and lots of green, red, and yellow lights circling the entire club. There was a hot foggy space in the air caused by the increase in temperature by the numerous amounts of people dancing and sweating.

Everyone was friendly;
“Hi pretty girl” some females responded to me as I walked by with my friends. I responded with a nervous “hey!” I have never been a fan of random people saying hi to me when I didn’t know who they were. I felt people looking at me and I never been a fan of that either. The smell of cigarette smoke in the air is also something I’ve never been a fan of. Although I tried to find differences in this club, there really weren’t any. I lights were just flashy as any other club, the temperature was just as humid and the air just as cloudy as any other club. My eyes no longer looked for differences; my feet began to beat on the floor to the rhythm of sexy back, individuals dances all around me and they broke a sweat. Lots of individuals in the building were dramatic and attention grabbing just as individuals would be in a heterosexual club. I expected the environment to be different but the more I saw girls dancing with girls, guy and guys dancing together and just girls with guys, the more I knew that there weren’t any differences.

Differences are just mentioned by others out of fear. Fear of identifying with others that are preserved as minorities, different and wrong for their actions. If people just tried to put themselves in other people’s shoes, see a different prescriptive there wouldn’t have to be different places for certain types of individuals; but places and environments where many different beautiful people could feel welcome.

Randomly Selected Words

As Especially now when our society struggles to see that global warming is a fact and is rapidly happening as greenhouse gases released by us heat up the Earth. Our government quiets down individuals that work to make known a truth to the rest of the American people. Thomas Jefferson said “there is not a truth existing which I fear… or would wish unknown to the whole world”, so if truth works to benefit Earth’s many societies why don’t individual see what is happening around the world and our climate?

A Convenient Truth, a short film by comedian Sarah Silverman represents a comical viewpoint towards the matter of global warming. The focal point of the video that depicts its purpose is through the humor, such as, puns, irony, and the tone of the overall video. Sarah, as a guest in the Jimmy Kimmel show, starts with a serious tone through out the video. But then why is it funny and humorous and with laughs in the background? Comedy is used to interpret real life situations in a way that everyone will pay attention and see a specific situation from another perspective. The puns are the actions of Sarah in the video. She consumes energy in her home even if she is not around, showing a common act that many individuals here in America do, because the video is directed specifically to the audience of America. There’s also irony in the title of the video, “A Convenient Truth” symbolizes the convenience of to know the reality of global warming and what can be done to prevent the damages from being greater than they have to be. The tone of the video is obvious representing humor and sarcasm which is used for reflection and a punch to the face to those who reject global warming as something serious. The humor of the video makes Sarah’s purpose for the making of such a serious topic into something funny more understandable to the mainstream public.
Another topic that is not so obvious to the viewer is the presentation of happiness and fulfillment. Sarah depicts an important observation about why people wouldn’t take the topic of the global crisis serious; perhaps because the warmer temperatures can be enjoyable and maybe “economical”. Sarah not only mimics society in how they ignore the simple things that can be done by them to prevent further damage, but in a silent way also shows examples of others in society that are trying to be models in their own society such as the guy riding his bicycle instead of driving a car. The sarcasm of the overall video, the laughs of the people in the background, represent an agreement of the public towards her approach to raise attention on an important global crisis far from any war or conflicts, but the conflicts with the Earth that may arise in the future due to global warming.

My Personal Key to Future Success

Many of us will grow up into a difficult adulthood where every individual will work, work and work. Not everyone though will grow up enjoying their careers. My current tool for success is my business that doesn’t force labor, blood, sweat and tears because its goal is getting me out of there. No more time taken away from my life working two jobs to have somewhere to live and eat and take care of my family. No more will I feel my toes so cold in this harsh Colorado weather with its consistent snow. So cold that my feet turn purple after having to wait for the RTD bus to go to school, home, work and then home again. Soon Quixtar; my business will help me have financial freedom and a better foundation to help others become free.
Quixtar is a business that is currently helping a diverse group of people become free by reminding many why it is that most are still not happy in their current lives. The website page for Quixtar is built simple providing basic information about how the business works and how it started. The beauty of the business was built when two men came together, were sick of being employees and made an agreement to start a business where everyone had a chance to succeed. The agreement seems so appealing because back in my home town in Zacatecas, Mexico that’s how any type of agreement was made through a hand shake because even though people don’t have much they do have integrity.
However, even if the website is simple to anyone who visits the site, it’s not so simple looking to the IBO’s (Independent Business Owners). The site is formatted to depict hope, ideas and hunger for success. The website is nothing but a tool for IBO’s to be informed and updated on the newest products and advice on staying positive. In the IBO’s access, there are examples of individuals who had nothing, did not know how to read or write but did know how to dream. These were people who had no voice and were slaves to an employer, these were people who fought more to keep a job than to keep a strong bound around their families. Until one day when they made a decision that enough was enough and that they had to change their lifestyles and not only that but change the way they thought and work to be free and help others in similar situations better their lives.
I don’t know when I will be free but I feel it coming really soon. One day I will inspire others like me, young adults that are struggling to be free from destruction and hopelessness to think in a brighter and more positive light to make changes in the lives of others.
